The problem is all inside your head
She said to me
The answer is easy if you
Take it logically
I’d like to help you in your struggle
To be free
There must be fifty ways
To leave your lover
You Just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don’t need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don’t need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
Great song. Thank you Paul Simon! This song is about a mistress’s humorous advice to a husband on ways to end a relationship. In fact, we all experience a wide range of emotions and sometimes fall into the pit of anger, hatred, competitiveness, jealousy and fear. Because sometimes you can’t always have what you want. You want something, but for whatever reason, you can’t have it! What do you do? Do you go into a deep depression? That might help for a little while, just to get some closure of acceptance. But one of the strongest tools for getting out of this maelstrom and letting go of these difficult emotions is to express gratitude.
