Day 188 – Running On Empty

Lately, I’ve noticed more frequently that every time I look at the gas gauge in my car, it is always running on empty. Whether it’s $20.00 or $10.00, it just disappears so fast. OK, the price is gas has a lot to do with it. It’s getting to the point that if the empty gas light isn’t on, then something is wrong. I’m deranged, I know.

But the point of all this is to realize that even though sometimes in life we feel we are running on empty, there’s still enough in the gas tank to keep on going.

I mean we don’t talk about it, but our discontentment with life shows: we grumble, get angry at small things, eat too much, drink too much, drive too fast . . .

We can blame ourselves or we can blame others. It really doesn’t matter; it doesn’t change anything.

We want things to be better – we may even want ourselves to be better – but we can’t seem to make it happen.

We have conflicting desires within ourselves, so that we don’t do the things we want to do – much less the things we think we should do.

We mess up our relationships, even though that’s not our intention.

So, if your feeling low and empty, don’t give yourself reasons to accept that this is as good as it gets. Fight the fears that are inside you and allow your inner soul to show itself. Once you start doing this, the universe opens up and more of what you truly want comes into your life. Stop running on empty, and fill your tank with positive thoughts that will last for a long, long time.

  3. Hey Dave, thanks for that one. It really hit to the core of my issues TODAY!!! OMG I’ve been struggling and ignoring what I know to be true in my life.. I’m about to re-invent myself on many levels and aspects, or should I say it’s been an ongoing process for the last 3 yrs. Now, I’m facing the scariest part of all. So I’ve finally embarrassed it, and said okay and I’m ready to go forward. Almost liking jumping from an AIR PLANE WITHOUT A SHOOT!!!! So thank you for that…I really appreciate your list…. I really do… keep up the good work

  4. Clarke,

Thank you on your amazing comments on this blog post. This post started as most do each day, with no idea what I’m going to write about. Then it just hits me. I feel as though I am guided by a higher spirit when suddenly the inspiration and then the words flow into my head. I just can’t explain it as I write about the passion that radiates throughout my entire body.

    Dave
