Clutter, both mental and physical, can do a number on our productivity and eat away at our time. Think of all the minutes we waste looking for items that aren’t where they should be. Plus the sheer stress of a cluttered life means we may miss deadlines, work longer hours, and lose important stuff. Clutter equals stress.
But what is behind all the clutter in our life? To begin with, clutterers often have a “lack” consciousness. We believe that we will never have enough, that what we have will not be replaced if taken away, that we do not deserve better – more, perhaps, but not better.
There is a Universal Truth which is that we get what we believe we deserve. If we believe that we don’t deserve the best, that we don’t deserve a full and rich personal life with adequate material possessions, we will hoard those pitiful ones that we do have.
OK, you are sitting in a messy house, surrounded by things that are treasures to you and trash to others. You are probably depressed. Your finances are a mess. You are alone. So how do you get out of your rut?
We begin by realizing how prosperous we already are. Prosperity is not just stuff. It is people, health, pets, how we feel. When we have decluttered our house and found all that loose change, we celebrate that.
Affirm for yourself that you are a success. Affirm that you are successful in getting rid of your clutter. If you are having a hard time getting started, be grateful that you are such a successful clutterer. Who else could have amassed such a collection of stuff?
Only one know the real answer.
Clear the clutter. Clear your life!
